Lake Michigan Sunset


here's a photo i took a few years back of a sunset over lake michigan. altho it wasn't an hdr image, i processed it like one (tone mapping which we discussed briefly in our study group). let me know what you think of it.

  1. Great colorful sunset; with the sun quite high in the sky. Even though I know it must have been a sunrise.

    I must have missed something. What is an "hdr image"? And what is "tone mapping"?

  2. twas indeed a sunset. hdr is high dynamic range photography, a method of mixing multiple exposures to get photographs with more detail in highlights & shadows than otherwise possible. tone mapping is the digital technique used to achieve har.

  3. The closest waves have an unreal appearance to me.Does the end result reflect reality or does it reflect a desired photographic result? Kenny
